  • A DAY WITH...

Ingrid Vink is one of Auckland's leading Personal Shoppers and Fashion Stylists.
Her experience is extensive and varied, having studied and worked in the competitive fashion industries in England, Australia and New Zealand.
The London College of Fashion accredits her diplomas in Fashion Styling for the Media, Personal Fashion Styling and Trend Forecasting and Fashion Brand Management.
Ingrid is now working as a freelance Stylist for various New Zealand magazines, including Fashion Quarterly and Next magazine.
Recognition of Ingrid's consultative talents and her sense of style has led her to being called upon as an expert Personal Stylist in exciting TV One style makeover programme, Ten Years Younger.
This ‘insider’ work enables her to view fashion ranges well before they arrive in store, giving her an edge as a Personal Shopper and Wardrobe Consultant. With this insight and years of fashion knowledge, Ingrid ensures her personal shopping clients are one step ahead of the fashion pack when planning their wardrobes or seasonal purchases.
Ingrid's personal shopping approach honours the individual. She keeps clients up to date with current colours, trends and styles while ensuring this information is tailored to the individual client's personality and lifestyle. Her consultations aim to lift clients out of those style ruts without compromising other needs or sense of self. ©

As a Fashion Editor, Personal Shopper and Fashion Stylist my days are a mixture of all three elements. The diversity keeps me abreast of the latest styles and makes each day very different from the last. When not on a fashion shoot for a magazine, a normal day could be:
8-9am. Head to the office - check, clear emails and pick up clients' folders (details) for the day, check progress of the current re-design of www.vink.co.nz and approve copy to be used.
9.30am. First client is on the North Shore. She has an overseas work trip coming up with an important public speaking function and needs outfit options that not only work for the climate and event, but are also easy to pack.
12.30-1pm. Clear messages on my phone, make appointments for my regular clients and grab a bite to eat on the run...
1pm. View the new winter ranges at Showroom 22 - there are some stunning pieces so I put aside a few items I want to shoot for a fashion magazine the following week.
1.30pm. Walking back to the car, I see a great pair of shoes for a client I was shopping with last week and know they are perfect. I have the store put them put aside and text my client to let her know they are ready for collection.
2pm. Meet with photographer who will be shooting my fashion spread. We head to the location for shot ideas and to see how it will work for the theme of the shoot, discuss ideas and talk about our options if the model that is booked has to leave NZ for another job. We will only know four days out from shooting so we work through our second model choices and call the magazine to have them confirm our options by viewing her pictures via the internet.
3.30pm. Meet client in Newmarket for a last-minute summer work-wear shop. They need only a few items such as a new jacket and trousers until winter product comes into store late in February early March.
5pm. Head back to the office to clear emails and work on an outfit combination list for a client from the previous day. ©
